Our Stories Ep. 36 (Danielle Roberts)

Episode Summary

Our Stories Podcast is delighted to present a conversation with Danielle Roberts, Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for Education at Winship Cancer Institute (WCI). Danielle shares with us her love of education, not only in how she prepares APPs for work in oncology with continuing education classes, conferences, and the fellowship program, but also how she delights in helping APPs new to WCI adjust and adapt in specialty cancer clinics. Patients and families being treated at WCI are always at the forefront of Danielle's mind and helping them manage treatment so that they can be part of major life events (graduations, weddings, births) is an important focus of her clinical work. To care for her own wellbeing, Danielle takes time with family to play, board games even if her kid wins, and exercise, home equipment keeps things easy. Even though the pandemic delayed the trip, Danielle looks forward to seeing New York City through her daughter's eyes this holiday season. Given all her tremendous contributions to APP education and patient care, Wellness is so pleased to know she is headed for an excellent adventure in NYC this month!
