We have another podcast to share! Take a listen and let me know what you think, please! I think this would be ok to share on social media, but see what you all think too, please! The Wellness program is pleased to present a conversation with Dr. Sarwish Rafiq, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology. Prior to joining Emory in 2019, Dr. Rafiq was a post-doctoral researcher at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Rafiq shares her experience growing up the child of immigrants, how the importance of education was instilled in her at a young age and now the joy she finds in parenting her 2-year-old daughter. While her scientific work involves complex investigations into how the immune system may help treat cancer, she is intent on creating a lab environment that is supportive, inclusive, and encourages a compassionate approach to each member of the team. Art has been a part of Dr. Rafiq's life for years, and like so many, she looks forward to the time we can all return safety post-pandemic to museums, concert halls, and the theater.
